4. MIND POWER: TO THINK STRONGLY
The following mental exercises are meant to help you experience the power of your mind. They are very useful in allowing skeptical people to experience their mental strength, which can serve as a first step to deeper experiences. (The following exercises are meant to be done with a partner.)
EXERCISE: IRON ARM
*Stand at an arm’s length from your partner, faces turned towards each other
*Let your stretched arm, with clenched fist and wrist raised upward, rest on your partner’s shoulder
*Your partner pushes your arm down until it bends
*Repeat the exercise, imagining a beam of light or a ship cable running through your arm
EXERCISE: GOLDEN RING
*Push the fingertips of your thumb and pointer finger strongly against each other, forming a circle
*Your partner pulls your fingers apart
*Repeat the exercise, imagining there is a golden ring in your fingers
Notice how the mental power you use in these exercises also makes you physically stronger.
EXERCISE: I AM
*Stand upright, let your partner push you until you lose your balance
*While your partner pushes you, over and over again, think of different ‘I am constructions’, for example ‘I am a green frog’, ‘I am a top model’, ‘I am a great mother’, ‘I am Corepower – power, love and wisdom’
The words ‘I am’ are very powerful and creative. When you tell yourself you are something, it has a lot of influence on your state of being.
Each push counts as a test. You offer more resistance when you believe more firmly in your identification with an “I am” construction. The exercises let you feel the difference and can help you learn where your self lies.
Be aware of the explicit impact your thoughts and your imagination have on the physical world. The more you say ‘I am’ for what is really essential for you, the stronger you become. In doing so, you work towards your core and your identification comes closer to yourself. To really know who you are can also help you to make a distinction between being and doing. It is very possible that you are currently a manager, but now work as a burger flipper at Mc Donald’s for a while. The fact that you work as a burger flipper doesn’t mean that the job defines your identity. “I am” constructions carry a lot of creative power and summon a lot of energy. Be careful with what you say when you say ‘I am’. Subconsciously, you are saying yes to something and generating experiences accordingly. Refer to the I AM MEDITATION (px) to work deeper with this.
